Suffolk Cinema Network Respects Your Privacy

Suffolk Cinema Network will comply with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 with regard to any personal data that you may supply e.g. as part of: Membership, Audience Participation, Partnership and General Enquiries.

What information do we collect?

We may collect and hold information about the contact you have with us as e.g: a service user, audience member, partner or supporter of Suffolk Cinema Network, and this may include details of:

  • → event attendance
  • → screenings
  • → contact preferences
  • → details of correspondence sent to you, or received from you
  • → interests and activities
  • → any other information provided by yourself at the request of Suffolk Cinema Network

We keep the details of all of our members on our website.

If you are a member, your details are listed under your membership profile, so that we can contact you about your membership when we need to.

This may include personal information such as:

  • → your full name and title
  • → postal address, email address and phone number

We never have access to your password for using our website and we would never be able to log in as you. We do not keep any banking details.

If your membership lapses, you automatically become a Free Subscriber on our website, which means we keep your details in case you wish to renew membership or get involved in future projects. We occasionally contact Free Subscribers about one-off opportunities.

When we ask you to provide personal information we will let you know why we are asking, and how we will use your data, by directing you towards this notice.

How do we use this information?

We use this information to improve the service we give you for the purposes of evaluation, record-keeping and quality control, to provide you with information, or services that you request, or which we feel may interest you, and to notify you about changes to our services. For example:

  • → To send you promotional or marketing information by electronic communications, telephone or post. These can include:
    - Information on events or activities provided by or related to Suffolk Cinema Network
    - News and updates about Suffolk Cinema Network and opportunites that we think you might find interesting
    - Invitations to events such as screenings or member meet-ups
    - Other relevant communications based upon your relationship with Suffolk Cinema Network

How do we protect your personal information?

We understand that your personal information and privacy are important. We make every effort to ensure that the information you share with us is recorded accurately, retained securely and used only according to your wishes. We protect your personal information and adhere to current data protection legislation.

We do not give out, sell or trade our membership and partner data with third parties. The information you provide will be used primarily to improve our services to you, for evaluation and monitoring and to keep you informed about the activities of Suffolk Cinema Network.

Where we are working in partnership with an organisation such as Creative Arts East on a joint project, we may share your contact emails or addresses for the purposes of keeping you updated on the project (this could be the seasonal menu of films for booking at subsidised rates, BFI funding opportunities or specialist screening opportunities). We will always let you know if this is the case.

Whilst we may share your location and details of your screenings with funders for reporting purposes, we do not share personal contact details. We may also disclose anonymous information regarding demographics and other similar information to third parties for reporting purposes only.
