Suffolk Cinema Network is no longer operating but you can still run a community film screening!

Film kits

There are three portable cinema kits in Suffolk that are available for community use (note that the venues may charge for kit use):

Licenses

You need to have a Screening Licence if you want to screen a film in public - even if you aren't charging a ticket price or are doing a children's screening.

You can book the Screening Licence through organsiations such as:

• British Film Institute (for archive, British, classic or specialist films)
  www.bfi.org.uk

You may also need a Premises Licence (from your local authority) and The Music Licence from PPL PRS Ltd, to cover the soundtrack. These are both annual licenses held by your venue - check if your venue already has them.

Creative Arts East Screen

Creative Arts East Screen is a community cinema network that operates across East Anglia. The network is part of Creative Arts East's wider community arts and cultural activities, and supports community groups to run film screenings in their local venues.
